My $1,000,000 dollar plan

rock-and-a-hard-place

Intro

This is the first in a series of posts outlining a plan to build my business to $1,000,000 in annual recurring revenue.

Over the past few weeks I created a plan to go from:

  • My current situation - between $100,000 - $200,000 ARR, with no sales or marketing systems in place.
  • To my target - $1,000,000 ARR with exact sales and marketing systems in Place.
  • by identifying the obstacles and bottle necks and creating a step by step plan to solve them.

I will share as clearly and as simply as possible:

  • the exact theories and systems I use;
  • how I implement them; and
  • the results and mistakes along the way.

Why did I do it?

  1. My product has improved greatly over the last 2 years but I feel like I’ve been treading water with no plan or systems in place to grow the business.
  2. I think we’ve been conned by hustle culture to be busy, busy, busy. The more I stop and read the more I realise the importance of stepping back and thinking, coming up with a plan and a why before doing something. Tim Ferriss calls it “front loading thinking”, which I like.
  3. I want to document the process to help others learn and to look back on.

What did I do?

I started with an hour and a half interview of myself to work out (as mentioned):

  • the current state of the business;
  • where I wanted to go with it; and
  • what obstacles were in the way of getting there.

Off the back of this I created a goal and an exact plan of how to get there over the next 3-5 years.

I’ll be sharing the full plan over the next few weeks and the results over the next few years.

It follows roughly this order:

  1. Introduction - this post
  2. How it started - a strange interview with myself
  3. Creating goals - the exact goals and maths needed to get there
  4. The basis for the plan - a detailed breakdown of Alex Hormozi's systems and a roadmap based of them
  5. My plan - apply the roadmap to my business and creating a specific roadmap
  6. The process - a brief discussion on how I intend to execute the plan

Why you might care

3 reasons:

  1. You’re an early stage entrepreneur - I share information on:
  • how to get off the ground;
  • start making more that $100,000 dollars year; while
  • arriving at a place where you have time, location and financial freedom.
  1. You’re in the process of building/growing a business and you want to learn from real life experiments, successes and failures.
  2. You generally want to follow the journey and see if I succeed or fail.

Over the next 5 posts I’ll share all the information and theory regarding the plan, and the exact plan itself.

Then over the course of the next 3 - 5 years I’ll share the results, mistakes, changes, failures and successes.

Wish me luck…or don’t 🍀
